Cookie & Storage Policy

• Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently.
• Local storage is a browser feature that allows websites to store data on your device. Unlike cookies, local storage data is not sent to the server with every request.
• IndexedDB is a browser database used for storing larger amounts of structured data locally, such as offline drafts.

Greyn primarily uses browser local storage rather than traditional cookies. Here is what we store:

These are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled:

• Authentication session — Supabase stores your login session in local storage to keep you signed in
• Purpose: Maintain your login session securely
• Retention: Until you log out or the session expires

These remember your preferences to improve your experience:

• Theme preference — Your light/dark mode choice
• Language preference — Your selected language (en, nl, or fr)
• Sidebar state — Whether the navigation sidebar is collapsed or expanded
• Retention: Persistent until you clear browser data

If you use Greyn as a Progressive Web App, additional data may be stored for offline functionality:

• Listing drafts — Unsaved listing drafts for offline editing
• Message drafts — Unsaved message drafts
• Cart data — Your shopping cart for offline access
• Retention: Until you submit or delete the drafts

Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies:

• Cloudflare — May set a __cf_bm cookie for bot protection (essential, expires after 30 minutes)
• Google Maps — May set cookies when the map view is loaded for location services
• Stripe — May set cookies during the payment process for security

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Under EU ePrivacy Directive and Belgian law, cookie consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary for the service requested by the user. Since Greyn only uses essential and functional storage (no tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies), a cookie consent banner is not legally required. If we add non-essential cookies in the future, we will implement a consent mechanism.

You can manage stored data through your browser settings:

• Clear all site data through your browser's privacy settings
• View and delete specific local storage entries through browser developer tools
• Block or delete cookies through your browser's cookie settings

Note: Clearing essential storage will log you out and reset your preferences.
